Frequently Asked Questions

Can I track a package without a tracking number?
Not directly. Tracking numbers are the unique identifier carriers use to locate a shipment. If you're missing one, contact the sender or check your order confirmation email.
My package has been "In Transit" for days with no updates - what does that mean?
Long-haul legs between distribution centres often go 2–5 days without a scan. USPS Ground Advantage can go 3–5 days with no update. Unless the estimated delivery date has passed, this is usually normal.
What is the difference between UPS SurePost and UPS Ground?
UPS SurePost hands the final mile off to USPS, making it 20–40% cheaper but typically 1–2 days slower. There is often a tracking gap at the carrier handoff where updates pause briefly.
Can I change a delivery address after shipping?
Yes, but only before the shipment reaches "Out for Delivery" status. USPS Package Intercept costs $16.35. UPS and FedEx offer intercept services with their own fees. Act quickly after you notice an error.
How long should I wait before filing a lost package claim?
USPS: 7 days domestic, 45 days international. UPS and FedEx: 24 hours after the expected delivery date. DHL: 7 days. Always file as soon as these windows open — delays can affect your claim eligibility.
Which carriers does TrackingAdvice support?
We support 800+ carriers including USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Deutsche Post, Canada Post, Royal Mail, Aramex, and hundreds of regional carriers across Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.
